PRS Sonzera 20 Combo
Sonzera [Portuguese]: from som (sound), meaning a cool and/ or stunning sound (in the sense of music) – a kind of slang.
The Sonzera 20 is a 20-watt combo tube amplifier with two independently controlled, footswitchable channels designed for maximum versatility and in the spirit of vintage amps that allowed you to control your tone instead of the amp being in control.
The PRS Sonzera is designed to cover a lot of sonic ground without being overly-complicated to use, with both channels voiced to maximise note clarity and definition. The Sonzera's clean channel delivers articulate and full-bodied tones that, despite its modest 20W of power, has lots of headroom and can be heard easily over a drummer in a gigging scenario. Featuring Bass and Treble controls, you can adequately shape the sound of the clean channel to preference.
Channel 2 is related to channel 1 when it comes to its circuitry, meaning that you can seamlessly set it up to offer a boosted clean tone. However, you can also configure it to provide a completely diverse distortion tone - like having two different amps in one! With a more controllable 3-band EQ section, you can precisely set your preferred sound and even use the gain channel's bright switch to introduce some high-end snap and tighten the lows.
